Floral Hall – Southport
Floral Hall Southport is a mixed use building, set at the heart of Southport’s Promenade area and a building which acts as a show-piece to the resort’s visitors. Half of the building is occupied by the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Convention Centre; 133 bed six storey hotel.
The building is also occupied and used as a gallery whilst the local tourist board also uses the facility. Below the hotel there is a multi-level car park and there is also an adjacent theatre complex. Allenbuild were the main contractor on the project which totalled approximately 1500 Tonnes of KILLELEA Structural Steelwork. Two large truss girders were required to facilitate a clear span of 30 metres, the largest girder weighed 94 Tonnes, was 30 metres long, 4 metres high and required a staggering 3,770 bolts. The second girder weighed 73 Tonnes and required 2,360 bolts; that’s 6,130 bolts in 2 assemblies alone! Floral Hall is an impressive addition to Southport’s regenerated sea front and KILLELEA are very proud to have worked with Allenbuild on this development.
